Adidas releases 2026 World Cup national team away jerseys
Today, Adidas officially unveiled the official away jerseys designed for 25 national teams, including 13 national teams that have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 25 national teams include: Algeria, Argentina, United Arab Emirates, Northern Ireland, Belgium, Peru, Germany, Colombia, Costa Rica, Qatar, Curaçao, Mexico, South Africa, Japan, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Wales, Venezuela, Ukraine, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Chile (the Jamaica team was released in advance).
Adidas Soccer General Manager Sam Handy said, "As the World Cup spanning three host countries—USA, Canada, and Mexico—draws near, we strongly feel that now is the perfect time for the Trefoil logo to return to the world football stage. This is an era that defines football culture—the influence of football styles is extending into various industries and diverse subcultural circles like never before, and jerseys may be the most authentic manifestation of this phenomenon. For this reason, these designs aim to pay tribute to each participating country while also providing all fans with a series of football apparel that goes beyond the stadium and integrates into everyday life."
The new series is designed for athletic performance, helping world-class players calmly handle the complex and variable environmental and climate challenges of the three host countries under high-pressure competition. To cope with severe high temperatures, the player version jerseys are equipped with Adidas' flagship CLIMACOOL technology and upgraded 3D engineered fabrics, further enhancing breathability, quick-drying, and heat dissipation, aiming to precisely regulate body comfort and keep players dry at all times.
The jerseys also use jacquard fabric to achieve a lighter wearing experience, helping players move freely on the field. Each jersey features the classic three stripes on the shoulders, made with herringbone stitching, ensuring that players remain comfortable and breathable even in harsh climate conditions.
As an important part of the global launch of the 2026 FIFA World Cup away jersey, Adidas held an immersive launch event in Los Angeles, bringing together athletes, creators, and celebrities from the fields of football, music, and street culture, turning the jersey release into a high-energy street party. The event not only officially unveiled the new away jersey but also marked the first return of Adidas’ classic trefoil logo to national team football kits in many years.
adidas Originals will also create the “Adidas Retro Football Market” at Shanghai Xintiandi La Geneva Primary School from March 21 to 22. This will not only feature brand cultural spaces such as the “World Cup Archive” and the “Trefoil Jersey Exhibit,” but also, through community activities like the Trefoil Football Challenge, the “Street Flash Three-on-Three” dance competition, and the premiere of a Hainan skateboarding film, extend football from the pitch to the streets and the community, bringing every football fan back to their initial memories on the green field, allowing them to once again feel the passion and resonance of this sport in urban life.
